Writing Prompts for Letter Writing

Writing Prompts for Letter Writing

When writers want to practice writing, but don’t know where to start, they look for what’s called “writing prompts.” No reason that can’t work for InCoWriMo writers! Let’s see what we can come up with, shall we?

  1. Tell them about your current home. What is your favorite thing about it? What room makes you feel most at “home”? Why?

  2. What kind of animal companions do you have? How did you choose them? Or, why don’t you have any pets?

  3. Write about the last time you went on a trip. What great moments did you have? What misadventures or mishaps did you have along the way?

  4. Are you a morning person? A night owl? Burning the candle on both ends? Any particular reason why?

  5. Where are you sitting to write your letter? Do you have a routine for doing so? Are you drinking a coffee, tea, some water? Listening to music? Do you prefer a certain spot, a particular pen, or paper? What is the atmosphere in the room around you like? Sunny out? Snowing? SHOW us in your writing.

  6. What do you treasure most in life?

  7. What’s something that you had to work at really hard to learn or to perfect?

  8. What is the best advice you’ve ever received? Who suggested it? How did it help you?

  9. Tell them something you’re really picky about.

  10. Who gave you the best present you’ve ever gotten? Why is/was it the best?

Do you have any writing prompts to share? Tell me in the comments!
